Software

CAD - I used AutoCAD for work and on retirement, I was allowed to continue using it. A very good FREE 2D drafting program called DraftSight used to be available, which was promoted here, but from early 2020, only a PAID version is available.

Trackwork planning - For narrow gauge layouts with bespoke trackwork, I have developed some standard track components for use in my CAD program, but for layouts using commercial trackwork, I use Anyrail, a dedicated model railway drawing package.
