Battery Loco 1

The first loco was based on a Tenshodo 'Spud', which had been used in an O-16.5, UK outline, Galloping Goose. A simple BEV loco seemed a nice idea, and after much investigation into prototypes, a design was developed. Made entirely from Plasticard, the loco was a speedy and satisfying build. The change of couplings from H0 to 0n3 required some changes to the rear platform, but the first loco was a success.
The first figure to appear on the layout was a standard G scale item that gave a good idea of the scale, but was a little 'cartoony'. A chance purchase in the 'bargain bin' of a large toy store provided Toryn Farr, a Star Wars figure, who brought a more 'realistic' feel to the model.
