Explosives Wagon

While researching a 7mm model of 'Carnegie', some very useful photos of the loco at Waltham Abbey Gunpowder Mills were found on the Fairlightworks Flickr site. Along with the loco were photos of an 'explosives' wagon. Once the loco was finished, thoughts returned to the wagon, and a Gn15 ...

With no drawings available, it became a 'freelance model based on' project. The basic construction was as BE basic wagons with just the length and height needing to be decided. The photos provided most details although the end panels were slightly modified. These wagons were only ever pushed by hand.
Boxes - The process of making the cardboard trays and boxes was originally developed for a 16mm NG layout, but they fit well on BE.
